Car Crashes into Northside California-Kirkbride house, house condemned, driver trapped

  From the Post-Gazette : A house in the city’s California-Kirkbride neighborhood was condemned after a man crashed a car into it Wednesday, [October 28, 2020] according to Pittsburgh public safety spokesman Chris Togneri. Debris from the three-story house trapped the driver after he was ejected from the vehicle, Mr. Togneri said. Pittsburgh police, firefighters and emergency medical service personnel responded to the crash about 5 p.m. near the intersection of Brighton Road and Brighton Place.  First responders had to dig the driver, a 24-year-old man, out of the debris, Mr. Togneri said. He was being treated at a hospital. Two people were inside the home when the crash occurred but were not injured, Mr. Togneri said.  The house’s back wall sustained major damage, and a city Department of Permits, Licenses and Inspections investigator condemned the residence, Mr. Togneri said.
