Vehicle Crashes into Apartment Building in Carrick

  Photo: Post-Gazette From the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette : Pittsburgh police are investigating after a vehicle crashed into the front of an apartment building in Carrick overnight. The crash was reported around 1 a.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of Brownsville Road. The impact left a large hole in the mostly brick building. No injuries were reported. Car Crashes into Home in Lincoln-Lemington Neighborhood, Nearly Killing Man on Couch

  Liz Kilmer of WXPI-TV reports : PITTSBURGH —  A car slammed into a house late Monday night in Pittsburgh’s Lincoln-Lemington neighborhood moments after a man inside got off a couch. The car crashed into the house about 11:30 p.m. after taking out a guide rail along Westmoreland Avenue. “I was lying on the couch and my lady friend that was with me poured some water on me to wake me up. If she didn’t wake me up, that would have been me lying there. God is good, he looked out for me,” Lowry said. The car ended up lodged in the living room, trapping him and his friend inside. Neither of them were hurt. “My neighbor, thank God for my neighbor, kicked the door down and got us out, and I thank God for that,” Lowry said. Lowry said the driver and a passenger took off after pulling a child from the back seat of the car. ###

  Photo credit: WXPI From Tony LaRussa of the TribLive : A Ross police officer suffered an ankle injury Wednesday afternoon after he tried to stop a woman accused of stealing multiple eyeglass frames from a store from fleeing in her car. Shortly after receiving a report of a retail theft from the America’s Best eyeglasses store in The Block Northway on McKnight Road, the patrol officer spotted a gray Ford Focus near the shopping center driven by a woman and tried to pull the car over, according Detective Brian Kohlhepp. Police said Sabrina Eisenberg, 46, of Sharpsburg, began to comply, but then pulled away and fled south along McKnight Road onto Brown’s Lane. The officer caught up with the suspect when Eisenberg veered off the road and struck a tree in the front yard of a home. The officer, whose name was not released, approached the car, which was still running, Kohlhepp said. Car Crashes into Tarentum House on Thursday Evening

  From Paul Guggenheimer of TribLive : A car slammed into the corner of a house in the 300 block of East 10th Avenue in Tarenturn on Thursday evening. Someone drove the driver to an unknown medical facility to get examined. The homeowner, who was in the backyard shortly after 6 p.m., said her house's foundation sustained damage, but no one was in the house at the time of impact. Police on the scene declined to comment as the investigation was underway.
